UTICA, NY (August 14, 2020) Mohawk Valley Endoscopy Center, Central New York’s first state of the art ambulatory gastrointestinal endoscopy center, is proud to announce that Harvey Hamilton Allen Jr, M.D. has been named Medical Director as of August 1st, 2020.
Mohawk Valley Endoscopy Center is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Healthcare (AAAHC) and is certified by Medicare. The Center provides the highest quality outpatient surgical services and pre/post-operative care while controlling costs and focusing on patient convenience. Last year, the Mohawk Valley Endoscopy Center performed nearly 10,000 procedures. Of those seen for screening colonoscopy, roughly 45 percent of patients were diagnosed with precancerous polyps of the colon. That polyp detection rate is nearly twice the adenoma detection rate (ADR) reported by gastroenterologists nationally. By removing these polyps when they are asymptomatic, many future colon cancers can be prevented.

Dr. Allen is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He strongly believes in the practitioner research paradigm of medical care. Dr. Allen is certified in all endoscopic procedures, Esophageal manometry/24 hr Ph probe, and CHR O’Regan System (painless hemorrhoidal banding.)In addition to his role at MVEC, Dr. Allen is also the Director of Endoscopy and Director of the Esophageal Manometry Laboratory at St Luke’s Hospital.
